Ensure financial coordination between Dean's Office finance staff and Faculty Practice Organization finance staff. Work collaboratively on fiscally challenged clinical departments. Identify problem areas, bring in appropriate participants as needed, and reach successful resolutions.
Dean's Office/College of Physicians and Surgeons
This position will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the departments, centers, and institutes of P&S, including budgeting, fiscal controls, financial analysis/reporting as well as assuring that all regular financial operations are managed effectively. He/she will manage the P&S Finance Office functions which consist of Budget (including annual operating budget, 5 Year Cash Forecast and 5 Year Capital Budget), Business Process Improvement, Affiliations (including New York ?Presbyterian) , compliance with University recharge center licensing requirements and Fair Market Value (FMV) determinations for professional services agreements, Business Office Operations as the University's Senior Business Officer and will oversee clinical finances with Columbia University's Faculty Practice Office. The successful candidate will establish close working relationships with the P&S Dean, Department Chairs, Center/Institute Directors and their Administrators to support the financial, clinical, academic and research goals of the School. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with the CUMC Vice President, Budget & Planning, and contribute to the overall financial strategy for P&S and CUMC.
Oversee CFO for ColumbiaDoctors whose responsibilities include directing the financial activities for the faculty practice including faculty practice financial reporting and oversight, medical malpractice premium calculations, professional fee collection, accounting and reporting, financial oversight of faculty practice outpatient facilities, and financial aspects of revenue cycle overhead.
General Minimum Qualifications: Position requires a Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration plus ten years of related finance experience with demonstrated leadership and management skills in a complex healthcare related organization. Excellent knowledge of financial concepts, budgeting, fund accounting and information systems as well as experience with clinical operations and sponsored project administration is also required. Proven accomplishments as a business partner to a leadership team and experience in Academic Medicine in a departmental operations role are preferred.

-work closely and effectively with a diverse group of senior administrators as well as peers and subordinates
-determine priorities and work independently
-design reports for senior management
-demonstrate strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word), and familiarity with database design
-perform other related duties as assigned.
