At the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), getting people from place to place is our business and our passion. We want to create interconnected mobility solutions available to anyone, to improve public health, and to enhance the quality of life in and around the Wasatch Front. UTA is one of the premier transit agencies in the country. It provides nearly 50 million rides on bus, light rail, and commuter rail lines every year in a 1,400 square mile service area.
UTA is looking for its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO) due to the retirement of our tenured incumbent. As a member of the executive management team, the CFO is a critical advisor to the Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and Advisory Council on developing financial resiliency to meet the strategic and transformational goals of UTA. This might mean making critical decisions that impact operations down to the individual driver or championing technology to achieve our business objectives. As a public sector professional, the CFO needs to have an unquestionable sense of integrity and an inherent penchant for the stewardship of public funds, combined with the political aptitude to effectively posture the organization for success. UTA’s revenue comes from a wide variety of sources, including state, federal, and local tax dollars. The CFO will be responsible not only for developing innovative financing packages for large, financed capital projects, but also embracing transparency at all levels.
